A character is the backbone of any story! During this session, Wolfe discusses the following items in detail while walking the listener through the creation of their own character.

Importance of believable characters with depth & personality

Developing the character first, story setting second

What influences a character’s actions and reactions

Determine the background – race, upbringing, family, economic status

Four basic personality types – choleric, sanguine, melancholy and phlegmatic

Determine the personality – strengths, weaknesses, interests, goals

Do not create a perfect character – flaws create conflict and interest

Decide physical attributes – height, weight, hair

Fill in miscellaneous details – friends, birthday, spouse or children

Characters will always be the drive and focal point of any story
